Upgrading to Win7
July 8th, 2010 by Sieabah received Comments OffWell if you didn’t know already I’m upgrading my desktop, the one I do all my work on, to Windows 7. It has been on Vista for the past 3 years and I’ve recently got the Adobe CS5 upgrade. Only to realize the only two programs that I use in it are only for 64 bit machines. Here, let me get you a picture of my face when that message box appeared.

My rage
So, I had to spend more money going out to get Windows 7 64-bit. Which I have been installing today. So far the only issue I’ve had during installation is the long wait time for ‘Completing Installation’. Which is probably a normal wait time, I just got impatient. The long process of installing all my content again is a price to pay if I want to use 64-bit, but I look at it this way. I no longer have to rage when CS4 craps out on me. I also don’t have to rage because my RAM is more accessible now. So with all that aside I’m currently deleting my Windows.old folder because I never wanted anything on my operating system. I was smart and saved everything on a Data drive.
Anyway, as I write this paragraph I’ve been using Windows 7 for close to a little more than a week. So far I’ve had a couple issues with After Effect Plugins, but I managed to get most of them working. In other news right after I purchased Windows 7, my father found out about Microsoft’s subscribers. Basically you pay something around $230 a year and you get 10 licenses to every single product that Microsoft offers. Now, I went out of my way to spend $120 on this Home Premium upgrade, but the rest of my family gets Ultimate for basically nothing. Ugh…
Well that’s really all I have to say for now, until next time!
