Random Site Conversion Complete!
June 21st, 2010 by Sieabah received Comments OffUnless you haven’t noticed the directories no longer have the ugly ‘Index of random/randomimages/…’ anymore. I’ve just recently updated both the high and low bandwidth sites so you no longer can glitch the viewer and look at the viewer inside of the viewer unless you do it through the built in proxy. It took a while to figure out a way to change the display, and keep the same folder structure so no images are disrupted from use. The only links that will be affected with this update are the links for the downloads within the downloadables folder. These are now in their own directories. I also must point out that I’m working on making a custom music player so you don’t have that horrible 5 – 10 second wait time for when quicktime needs to be initialized. Please note that this site was designed for FireFox. I do know that it works in chrome since I do use that browser from time to time to check basic features. The only problem is the back button where it sometimes doesn’t understand which frame to go back in, and it refreshes the site. I’m also planning to implement a custom video player and a news feed on the front page for random updates. There is a lot to do with the site, and I’m pretty pumped on working on it. I’ve also considered implementing a floating chat window, but that I don’t know what do you guys think? Post on the forums if you think it’s a good idea to add that function.
I’d also like to announce that this random site accounts for half of my site’s size. Currently my entire site is around 11.6GBs and my random site is 5.6GBs. The site contains over 2,400 files! Largest site that I have, and by far the most complicated. I have to give credit to Dragory with helping me out problems I’ve had while creating the site. Don’t know what I would have done without him. If anyone has any ideas on what can improve the random site please post them on the forums here. Sign up and help start a could-be awesome community!

Sieabah.
